Daniel's sixteenth week!

Once again, a week full of many things! It started with the visit to the kindergarten from another volunteer, a Hungarian named Pisztie. He's a very talented juggler and he does amazing things with his balls and rings.

Kolejny tydzień pełen wrażeń I pracy! Rozpoczął się on wizytą w naszym przedszkolu wolontariusza z innego przedszkola – Pisztie z Węgier. Pisztie jest niezwykle utalentowany. Wyczynia cuda żonglując swoimi piłeczkami oraz obręczami.

He was very patient and did a couple of shows for the kids. They really loved it and enjoyed a lot!

Pisztie był bardzo cierpliwy  i zaprezentował swoje umiejętności przed dziećmi. Dzieci były zachwycone!

This week me and Gokhan started a small project about countries in Europe. The idea is to make a presentation about a different country in Europe every week, teaching the kids some small facts about them, like capital city, typical food, other cities, funny facts, football if any and a small conversation in the native language. The first country was Spain!

W tym tygodniu rozpoczęliśmy z Gokhanem projekt dotyczący krajów Unii Europejskiej. Pomysł polegał na tworzeniu prezentacji dla dzieci, dotyczących krajów Europy. Co tydzień inny kraj. Prezentowania dzieciom faktów związanych z tymi krajami, jak na przykład stolice, typowe jedzenie, zabawne fakty, imiona.  A także krótkie konwersacje- powitania w języku omawianego kraju. Pierwszym krajem była Hiszpania!

The conversation is something like this: 

- Hello!

- Hello!

- How are you?

- Fine and you?

- Fine thank you!

- Good bye!

- Good bye!
Dialog brzmiał mniej więcej tak:
-Dzień dobry!
-Dzień dobry!
-Jak się masz?
-Dobrze, a ty?
Dobrze dziękuję!
-Do widzenia!
-Do widzenia!

After the presentation, we ask the kids questions about the country and we try to teach them the small conversation, the ones that answer correctly get a small flag of the country. The idea is to give a big present to the kid or kids that will have more flags at the end of our project. Even the teachers participate in the presentations!!

Po prezentacji ma miejsce quiz dotyczący informacji na temat danego kraju. Uczymy dzieci dialogów. Dziecko, które odpowie na największą liczbę pytań otrzymuje flagę omawianego kraju. Po zakończeniu projektu dzieciaki, które uzbiera najwięcej flag otrzyma nagrodę. Nauczyciele także biorą udział w prezentacjach.

I taught the kids a song about an elephant in Spanish that we sing in Venezuela when we are kids. I painted the sentences of the song for them to see. The song goes like this:

Nauczyłem dzieci piosenki o słoniu po hiszpańsku, którą śpiewałem w Wenezueli, jak byłem dzieckiem. Wykonałem również lustracje do piosenki, odzwierciedlające poszczególne sentencje, żeby ułatwić dzieciom naukę. Oto słowa piosenki:

El elefante del circo, mueve sus patas así, es muy grande y muy pesado y no se parece a ti.

(The elephant of the circus, moves his legs like this, he's very big and very heavy and he doesn't looks like you)(słoń w cyrku, porusza swoimi nogami w ten sposób. Jest bardzo duży I bardzo ciężki I nie przypomina ciebie).

Si le das un manicito, su gran trompa moverá, y luego con las orejas muchas gracias te dirá. Gracias!

(If you give him a little peanut, his big nose it'll move, and then with his ears a thank you very much he will say. Thank you!) (Jeśli dasz mu orzeszka poruszy trąbą I swoimi uszami podziękuje ci. Dziękuję!)
 

This week was the carnival party, and the whole kindergarten dressed up with a costume. Some of them were so original! So here are some of the pictures.
W tym tygodniu odbyła się zabawa karnawolowa I wszyscy w przedszkolu za coś się przebrali. Niektórzy byli bardzo oryginalni! Oto kilka zdjęć

It was still snowing this week so we went out again to play with the snow. We tried building a snowman, but it came out very awful hahaha! At least they enjoyed and then we of course destroyed and the battle started! They were all against me, and they hit me so many times!! We had a lot of fun playing!

W tym tygodniu napadało śniegu, dlatego postanowiliśmy  wyjść na spacer i pobawić się na śniegu. Próbowaliśmy ulepić bałwana ale wyszedł bardzo brzydki haha! Przynajmniej dzieci miały dużo frajdy. Następnie odbyła się bitwa na śnieżki, a bałwan uległ zniszczeniu. W bitwie wszystkie dzieci były przeciwko mnie. Oberwałem wiele razy!! Świetnie si bawiliśmy!

Daniel's sixth week!

The sixth week was VERY busy, but busy means that it is good! but I believe it has been one of the most busiest week since I got here. Szósty tydzień był bardzo pracowity ale to dobrze! Ale to był jeden z najbardziej pracowitych tygodni od kiedy jesteśmy w przedszkolu.

We started the week with a small theatre play with the kids, they had to create their own story and present it to the others playing with the puppets. 

Rozpoczęliśmy ten tydzień od małego przedstawienia z dziećmi. Ich zadaniem było stworzenie ich własnej opowieści i zaprezentowanie jej innym z wykorzystaniem pacynek.

Then, of course, me and Gokhan created a small improvised story that had a very basic and lousy conversation in Polish! Since my Polish is not so good, well the play wasn't good haha but we had fun and the kids too!

Wtedy oczywiście ja i Gokhan stworzyliśmy małą improwizację. Historyjkę, która była bardzo prostą i luźną rozmową po polsku! Ponieważ mój polski nie jest najlepszy więc sztuka nie była doskonała haha ale za to dobrze się bawiliśmy i dzieci także!

This week we went to visit Wawel Castle, which is an impressive castle in Krakow. 

W tym tygodniu wybraliśmy się zwiedzać Zamek Królewski na Wawelu w Krakowie.

The kids had a very interesting tour in the castle with a tour guide and had some special activity when the tour ended. 

Dzieci pojechały na bardzo ciekawą wycieczkę na Wawel., który zwiedzały  z przewodnikiem. Odbyły się bardzo ciekawe zajęcia.

This week there was a special party for the parents related to the Polish traditions in Christmas time. So a lot of parents came to the kindergarten and we danced with the kids and the parents and had a lot of fun! 

W tym tygodniu odbyła się zabawa z udziałem rodziców, związana z polskimi tradycjami. Do przedszkola przyszło wielu rodziców. Tańczyliśmy z dziećmi i rodzicami i świetnie się bawiliśmy!

In Venezuela there's a very funny thing we do in the parties and it's that people has to create a line and pass under the stick moving the body to the back and without touching the stick. This was very funny as well!

W Wenezueli mamy taką tradycję, że ludzie ustawiają się w linii i przechodzą pod patykiem odchylając do tyłu ciało bez dotykania patyka. Jest to bardzo zabawne.

On Polish tradition, they use hot wax and throw it into cold water and it's supposed to create a figure which will represent the future of the person who poured the wax into the water. The person has to interpret it, so is very abstract! 

W polskiej tradycji leje się gorący wosk przez klucz na zimną wodę. Ma to na celu stworzenie figury (która obrazuje przyszłość), przez osobę która przelewa wosk. Osoba ta musi zinterpretować co wyszło. To bardzo abstrakcyjne!

And for last but not least, we went to the theater on Friday morning to see a very very nice play about flowers. The kids loved it and although I didn't understand everything, I recognize the show was very good for them.

Ostatnio wybraliśmy się w piątek do teatru, zobaczyć bardzo ładne przedstawienie o kwiatkach. Dzieciom bardzo się podobało. Nie rozumiałem wszystkiego ale zauważyłem, że przedstawienie było dla dzieci bardzo interesujące.
